This CCBF Carbon Grill provided the opportunity to learn from Shell’s experience in using scenarios to guide their business decision making. Experts from Shell outlined two scenarios:
SCRAMBLE where nations rush to secure energy resources for themselves, fearing that energy security is a zero-sum game, with clear winners and losers. The use of local coal increases and greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, making dangerous climate change more likely.
BLUEPRINT is where cross-border cooperation and energy efficiency drivers allow both energy security and reducing emissions to make dangerous climate change less likely.
Moderator: Tony Tyler CEO of Cathay Pacific and EXCO Chair of CCBF. ‘Grillers’: Nicholas Brooke, Chairman of Hong Kong Science Park, and Mark Clifford, Executive Director of Asia Business Council.
