CCBF - C40 Cities Roundtable Discussion

CCBF Members Only Event

CCBF’s first roundtable discussion of 2010 was with Mr. Simon Reddy, Executive Director of the C40 Cities, on 27th January 2010 (Wednesday) from 5:00pm – 6:30pm at the Windsor Room, The Hong Kong Club, 1 Jackson Road, Central.  This is a members only event and will cost HK$200 per person.

Simon Reddy has served as the Executive Director of the Global Secretariat of the C40 Large Cities Climate Leadership Group since March 2007, responsible for setting up and running a global network of cities committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, providing strategic advice to generate political momentum, and developing working programmes to share best practices.

C40 is a group of the world's largest cities committed to tackling climate change. Cities have a central role to play in tackling climate change, particularly as cities bear a disproportional responsibility for causing it. In fact, cities and urban areas consume 75 per cent of the world's energy and produce up to 75 per cent of its greenhouse gas emissions. That is why it is so important for cities to work together, set the agenda on this issue and show leadership on this issue.  Through effective partnership working with the Clinton Climate Initiative C40 will help deliver emissions reductions and better energy efficiency.
