Copenhagen Communique Workshop

The Copenhagen Communique led by the Prince of Wales Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change based in the UK aim to have 500 (global) or so companies signing up to it. The aim is to present a progressive business consensus in support of an ambitious deal in Copenhagen and offer some thoughts on the practical steps the international community must now take to reduce emissions. The Communique was handed to Mr. Ban Ki-moon (Secretary-General of the United Nations) at a public event in New York in advance of the United Nations General Assembly Climate Summit in the last week of September 2009. Both the Bali and Poznan Communiqués played an important role in building momentum in the international climate negotiations and have reinforced the message to governments that a large part of the international business community wants a strong and effective international climate framework.

This workshop was developed for business to better understand the Communique in more detail.
